# What You'll Need:

01 - 7 oz semi-sweet or dark chocolate, chopped
02 - 7 oz high-quality white chocolate, chopped

03 - 6 peppermint candy canes or hard peppermint candies, crushed (about 1/2 cup)

04 - 1/2 tsp peppermint extract

# Cooking Steps:

01 - Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or ready 12 silicone snowflake molds.
02 - Heat the semi-sweet or dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring each time until completely smooth, or melt using a double boiler.
03 - If desired, stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted dark chocolate to enhance mint flavor.
04 - Pour the melted dark chocolate into the prepared molds or spread evenly in a 1/4-inch thick layer on the baking sheet, tapping gently to level.
05 - Refrigerate for 15 minutes until the dark chocolate layer is firm.
06 - In a clean bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same microwave or double boiler method until smooth.
07 - Optionally stir 1/4 tsp peppermint extract into the melted white chocolate.
08 - Pour the melted white chocolate evenly over the set dark chocolate layer and spread with an offset spatula.
09 - Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candies over the white chocolate, pressing lightly to adhere.
10 - Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes until fully set.
11 - Remove from molds or break into snowflake pieces; store in an airtight container in a cool place.
